About Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines is the largest ULCC (ultra-low-cost carrier) in the United States. It delivers low fares through a thoroughly unbundled strategy, charging separately for baggage, seat assignment and similar items on top of the base fare. In November 2024 the carrier filed for protection under the U.S. federal bankruptcy code and is currently working through reorganization proceedings (approved in January 2025). Its fleet is standardized on the A320 family. Hiring status following the reorganization should be confirmed directly with the company.
